2025 Primary Elections This Month

The June primary elections are limited this year to a few local races representing just three political parties overall - hence the greatly reduced number of early polling sites compared to previous elections.

Huntington Town residents will be selecting from a small field of candidates running on the Conservative, Republican or Working Families party lines, vying for the positions of Town Supervisor, Superintendent of Highways and Council Member. 

Reminder: To vote in any of these elections, you MUST be registered as a member of a political party that is holding a primary. If so, you can cast your ballot as follows:

Vote Early

Qualified voters who live in Suffolk County can use any one of seven specified Early Voting locations. For South Huntington residents, the closest locations are at Dix Hills Fire Department (E. Deer Park Road building) and Huntington Public Library - Station Branch.

All seven Early Voting locations operate on the same schedule:

  • Sun., 6/15 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

  • Mon., 6/16 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

  • Tue., 6/17     7:00 am - 3:00 pm

  • Wed., 6/18   7:00 am - 3:00 pm

  • Thu., 6/19 12 noon - 8:00 pm

  • Fri., 6/20 12 noon - 8:00 pm

  • Sat., 6/21 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

  • Sun., 6/22 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Note: If you cast a ballot during Early Voting, you are not allowed to vote again on Election Day.

Vote on Election Day

For those NOT voting early:

Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

Vote at your regularly assigned polling place.

Hours: 6:00 am – 9:00 pm

Vote Early Mail or Absentee

You must first apply for an early mail or absentee ballot (via mail or online) no later than Saturday, June 14. You can also apply in-person at the Board of Elections offices in Yaphank until Monday, June 23.

You must mail in (i.e. postmark) your ballot by June 24 -OR-

You (or someone else) may hand-deliver your ballot to the Board of Elections (i.e. ANY Suffolk polling place or BOE’s Yaphank headquarters) before the polls close at 9:00 pm on June 24.

Note: You are prohibited by law from voting in-person (i.e. on a tabulator) if you were issued an early mail or absentee ballot (regardless of whether or not you actually used the ballot). You must decide beforehand whether to vote by mail OR in-person, but NOT both.
