Buddy Merriam celebrates his 45th and final year with one of the longest running bluegrass bands in the Northeast, Back Roads. With 7 albums and 3 books of his original mandolin music, hosting “Blue Grass Time” radio on WUSB 90.1 FM since 1991 and touring Internationally with 2 tours of Ireland, Scotland and England, he has been an ambassador for Bluegrass for 50 years. The International Bluegrass Music Association selected Buddy several times to represent the Northeast at the World of Bluegrass in Owensboro and Louisville KY and Nashville TN, and he is proud to have performed several times at the Grand Ole Opry and with the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe.
Along with Buddy on mandolin the group features Ward Cloughen on string bass, Beaumont Tamchin guitar, Adam Becherer fiddle and mandolin and Nicole Evans, vocals. The show features songs from the albums, some new compositions and a few fun covers worked up bluegrass style.
South Huntington cardholders can get up to 2 free tickets beginning Jan. 2. Tickets are valid until 6:50 p.m., when non-ticket holders will be admitted, if there is space.
