    Details : Discover how whales communicate through sound. Explore the properties of sound as you experiment with waves and vibrations. Tap a tuning fork, shake different instruments, and create your own whizzing bullroarer. Register July 3.
  6. All About Bees & Honey

    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Learn about the history of bees and bee-keeping and find out why honeybees are so important to our eco-system as well as discover the health benefits of honey and taste samples of Long Island honey. Presented by Long Island beekeepers Samantha Boyd and Neal Wechsler. All welcome.
  7. Battle of the Books Practice

    Details : If you are entering grades 6, 7, 8 or 9 in September and love to read, we have the program for you! We need your skills to read and memorize trivia from eight pre-selected books to compete against other Suffolk libraries for the title of County Champion! Meetings will be on Mondays June 19 - August 7 from 7-8 pm in the YA library, with the actual battle taking place on Saturday, August 12th and Monday, August 14th. New participants are welcome to attend June 19 and 26.

  10. Mini Terrarium Planter

    Details : Go green and build your own mini terrarium planter in a glass globe planter, using soil, small stones and succulent plants. Registration begins on July 6.
