The South Huntington Public Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an active organization that works on behalf of the library's Young Adult community. The Advisory Board plans and hosts a variety of local events, including the yearly Summer Reading Program, monthly "Kids and Teens" activities, and an annual Writing Contest. In April, the Board sponsored the first ever Rock-Fest here at the library which was a great success. The TAB also contributes ideas concerning book or CD selections, future programs, and guest speakers.
Membership in the Teen Advisory Board is open to all teens in grades 6-12 and qualifies as community service. Meetings are held in the community room on the third Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8 PM. The Board is lead by a small group of committee leaders under the supervision of YA librarian and advisor Jennifer Griffing. New members are always welcome!
