The Children's Department serves children from birth through 6th grade and their parents/guardians/caregivers. The Children's Room on the lower level is designed to be a warm, nurturing space where children can play, read or use a computer.

Our Children's Librarians are experienced and knowledgeable about children's literature and reference materials and they are always ready to help your child choose something to read or assist with a school assignment.

The Children's Department offers a variety of programs and events, including story time, craft workshops, educational programs, concerts, puppet shows, children's theatre and author visits as well as our annual Summer Reading Club.

We are also a Family Place Library, which provides a welcoming and supportive environment for parents/caregivers and their children. We offer parent/child workshops, maintain a multi-media parenting collection and connect parents with child care experts.
