Library Services :
Public libraries describe their users as patrons, who are defined by The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language as people who "support, protect, or champion someone or something, such as an institution . . . [or] A customer, especially a regular customer." We appreciate that you support us and we try to make patron - or customer - service the hallmark of our library. Our staff is eager to help, and if you don't find what you need, we will try to get it for you. We try to accommodate your needs as much as possible. For example, we can relax due date requirements in some cases for those who are traveling. Also, if you are ill or injured and cannot get to the library, we will bring materials to your home. We also offer various online services that make it easier than ever to use the library - even after hours. You can reserve and renew books, pay fines and REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS online through our website. And you can search the catalog and use our electronic databases 24/7 from a computer with Internet access anywhere in the world. We have revised our library card policy so cards need to be renewed every three years instead of annually. If you don't have proof of residency in hand when you come in, or you want to obtain or renew your card over the phone, we will work with you to get the card issued or renewed as quickly as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, problems or special needs. Use this form to contact Joseph Latini, Library Director, or call the Library directly at 631.549.4411. |
