    Details : This is a 6-week workshop concentrating on autobiographical writing. Everyone has a story to tell, and this workshop will help participants write powerful and effective memoirs through group discussion, constructive critique of their work and short in-class writing assignments. In this supportive environment, participants can work on existing work, new work, a full memoir or short essays. The workshop is taught by New York Times bestselling author and award-winning journalist Robbie Woliver who also teaches writing and journalism at Farmingdale State College. There is a $25 fee, payable at registration, beginning Jan. 4 for South Huntington cardholders; all others Jan. 11.

  13. North Shore Civil War Roundtable

    Details : Islip Town Historian George Muckenbeck will be here to discuss "Men of Color to Arms," which looks at the contributions to the Union victory of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) as well as local residents who served and fought with these regiments. All welcome.
