    Details : Listening to stories is one of the first steps in eventually learning to read. This story time allows children and their caregivers to gradually separate at their own pace. Register July 6.
  8. Register for YA Creative Writing Intensive on 7/20

    Details : Join Young Adult author Gae Polisner for this one night workshop and learn everything from where ideas come from, to creating authentic character and finding your own unique writer's "voice." Participants should bring laptops and/or notebooks. Refreshments will be served. Registration begins July 6.

  15. North Shore Civil War Roundtable

    Details : Edward S. Alexander will present his book, Dawn of Victory: Breakthrough at Petersburg, March 25-April 2, 1865. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He has worked since 2011 at Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier in Petersburg, Virginia, and previously with Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. A current resident of Richmond, Virginia, Edward's research is focused on the Sixth Corps of the Army of the Potomac. All welcome.
