    Details : Enjoy a series of fun, educational classes for preschoolers ages 18 months - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) and an adult caregiver. This is a skill building, interactive class that will help prepare your child for independent learning experiences. Register July 7.
  2. The Power of Positivity

    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Motivational speaker Vin Ajwani will help us improve our lives and health by improving our outlook. In this two-part workshop, you will learn to forgive yourself and others, let humbleness overtake anger and move forward to a healthy life. He will also discuss how the right food and physical activity can nourish your soul. Join us!
  3. Monkey Bread Muffins
    Time : 11:00 AM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Sugar and spice and Chef Rob Scott will make this a fun class! Everyone will go home with 6 monkey bread muffins ready to bake and enjoy! Registration begins on July 6.
  4. Drop-In and Build
    Time : 12:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Get creative and build some awesome structures with our building blocks, Magna-Tiles, Lincoln Logs, Bristle Blocks, Fantasy Fort, and Smart Max construction toys. It's a great way to meet other families in our community. Stay for as long or as little as you like.
  5. Crochet for Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Miss Gail will teach you basic stitches. After you have perfected your stitch, you will be given instructions to make a crocheted scarf. Please bring to class a J crochet hook and a 4 ply skein of yarn. Register July 7.
  6. Big Table Sports CANCELLED
    Time : 6:30 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Join the team as Big Table Sports coaches you while you roll the dice, pick play cards, operate the clock and more in its premier game of X and O Football. Team work is required, so everyone is invited! Registration begins July 6.
  7. Outdoor Summer Concert: Streetfighter
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Outdoor Garden
    Details : Calling all Stones fans. This talented group prides itself on performing authentic renditions of the music of the Rolling Stones. Established in 1978 as Long Island's answer to the Broadway production of Beatlemania, the band was conceived to capture the music, spirit, and look of the world's greatest rock and roll band, replete with period correct clothing, playing songs from three distinctively major evolutions of Rolling Stones music.

    South Huntington cardholders can get free tickets for seating in the garden beginning July 1. Print them online or get them in person at the Circulation Desk. Tickets are valid until 6:50 p.m., when non-ticket holders will be seated, if there is space. You do not need a ticket to sit on the upper lawn; bring a blanket or chair. In the event of rain, we move inside to our theater.</p>

  8. Teddy Bear Sleepover
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Wear your pajamas and bring your teddy bear or stuffed animal for a fun evening of crafts, games, stories, and a bedtime snack. You'll leave your buddy at the library overnight for a special sleepover. Pick up your friend on Saturday after 11 a.m. and find out what happens at the library when the lights go out! Register July 7.
