  1. A.A.R.P. Smart Driving Course

    Details : Bring a ball point pen, bag lunch, driver's license and a check or money order per person made out to AARP. NO CASH. The fee is $20 for AARP members who bring their card; $25 non-members. South Huntington cardholders register beginning June 13 at 9 a.m.; others June 20.
  2. Color Your World Adult Coloring

    Details : Who says coloring is just for kids? Let your creative juices flow and color something beautiful while you socialize and meet others in the community. The library will provide coloring pages and pencils, but feel free to bring your own.
  3. Register for Recycling Robots on 8/2

    Details : We are going to create some awesome robots out of recycled materials. What will your robot look like? Come on by and see all of the cool creations, and hear some remarkable robot stories. Register July 19.

  7. DIY Wednesdays: Drop in and Craft!

    Details : Drop in and see what is our craft of the week. We will provide the supplies and basic instructions to get you started. No registration required. For those entering grades 6-12.
  8. Ice Cream Making

    Details : Ice cream is more than a sweet indulgence - it has nutritional value and an interesting history. During this workshop, you will learn to make ice cream the old fashioned way - by hand cranking! You will also sample the fruits of your labor. Register July 5.

  10. Evening Book Discussion

    Details : Join us as we discuss this summer's South Huntington Reads selection: The $64 Tomato by William Alexander. The tagline for this amusing memoir is "How One Man Nearly Lost His Sanity, Spent a Fortune, and Endured an Existential Crisis in the Quest for the Perfect Garden." Anyone who's ever even thought about gardening will relate to the author's experiences. Multiple copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk.
  11. Learn to Speak English

    Details : Adults who want to learn English are invited to participate in free ESL classes. Taught by a native English speaker, the classes are designed to help new English speakers practice and improve basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English, in a casual and fun environment. The program is free, and all are welcome.
