  1. Protect Our Aquifer Day

    Details : Water for Long Island will host a groundwater summit, bringing scientists and other experts together to discuss some of the most pressing problems facing Long Island's sole drinking water source: groundwater. Topics include how to go from science-based management to strong action. Residents are invited to be a part of this important conversation. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Go to www.waterforlongisland.org.

    Details : Flowers for the garden! Join us to plant flowers in pots for the garden. Then watch them grow all summer. Gloves and snacks provided. Register May 5.
  3. Register for Teen STEAM Challenge on 5/19
    Time : 9:30 AM
    Location : Theater
    Details : Exercise your STEAM problem solving skills in this friendly team competition. A fun challenge will be unveiled on the night of the program to be sure you use your noodle, not your Google! Register May 5.
  4. A Time for Kids
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Enjoy a series of fun, educational classes for preschoolers ages 18 months - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) and an adult caregiver. This is a skill building, interactive class that will help prepare your child for independent learning experiences. Register April 7.
  5. Color Your World Adult Coloring
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Who says coloring is just for kids? Let your creative juices flow and color something beautiful while you socialize and meet others in the community. The library will provide coloring pages and pencils, but feel free to bring your own.
  6. Drop-In and Play
    Time : 12:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Get out of the house, meet other parents and kids and have fun playing and talking together. It's a great way to meet other families in our community. Stay for as long or as little as you like.
  7. Crochet for Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Miss Gail will teach you basic stitches. After you have perfected your stitch, you will be given instructions to make a crocheted scarf or bag. Please bring to class a J crochet hook and a 4 ply skein of yarn. Register April 7.
  8. Friday Flicks: The Founder
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Theater
    Details : The true story of how Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire. Michael Keaton, Linda Cardellini. PG-13, 115 mins.

    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Bring out your inner geek & share your fandom! Each meeting we will view trailers, discuss the latest news on recent TV, movies, & books based on a different theme (such as Dr. Who & Supernatural!) as well as enjoy fun activities & snacks! Geek on! Register April 21.
