    Details : Children and their caregiver will participate in interactive hands-on learning and play stations. A community professional will be on hand to answer parent's questions. Siblings may attend. Registration begins April 4.
  2. Intermediate Tai Chi
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Certified instructor Rosanne Pawluk will lead you in the classic Yang 24 Form as she helps you deepen and refine your practice. The class will also feature a short meditation. There is a $55 fee for this 7-session class payable at registration beginning Feb. 7 for South Huntington cardholders; others Feb. 14.
  3. Book Talk Reading Club

    Details : Moderator Helen Harris will lead a discussion of this year's Long Island Reads selection, Dead Wake by Erik Larson, which is about the sinking of the Lusitania. Multiple copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk.
  4. Tai Chi Sword Form

    Details : The 16 Sword Form is based on Yang Style Tai Chi. This class, taught by instructor Rosanne Pawluk, is for the intermediate student already familiar with the Yang 24 Form. The movements are slow, gentle, and beautiful. For those interested in learning a weapons form for the first time, the 16 Sword form style is a great place to start. The use of a (plastic) sword is encouraged but not required. There is a $58 fee payable at registration beginning Feb. 7 for South Huntington cardholders; others Feb. 14.
  5. Homework Help at the South Huntington Public Library
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : High School students will assist children in the community with their homework assignments in the YA Library. Parents/Caregivers must remain in the building during the program. Help is offered on a first come, first serve basis.
  6. Zumba Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Zumba Kids classes are rockin', high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed kid-friendly routines. Participants should wear sneakers, comfortable fitness clothing and bring a bottle of water. Registration begins April 4.
  7. Evening Yoga
    Time : 6:30 PM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : End your day on a positive note with a yoga routine led by instructor Augusta Berner. There is a $25 fee payable at registration beginning Feb. 7 for South Huntington cardholders; others Feb. 14.
  8. Teen Advisory Board
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an active organization made up of teens in grades 6-12 who work together to make a difference in our library. They help decide what materials should be purchased, plan programs and work on special projects. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday night of the month at 7pm. Community service hours are provided. New members are always welcome!
