  1. Register for Youth Leadership Program on 3/23

    Details : Every young person has the potential to become a good communicator and leader, but this potential needs to be developed. This program's unique eight-session, workshop-style design enables participants to overcome nervousness, organize and present ideas, listen to others' ideas and and constructively participate in group discussions! This program is sponsored by Toastmasters International. Space is limited. Registration begins March 9 for SHPL cardholders and March 16 for all others.
  2. Tai Chi for Health

    Details : Instructor Rosanne Pawluk will teach you this simple form, based on Sun style Tai Chi, which features agile steps and exercises that may improve mobility, breathing and relaxation. There is a $47 fee for this 9-session class, payable at registration beginning Feb. 9 for South Huntington cardholders; others Feb. 16.

    Details : Listening to stories is one of the first steps in eventually learning to read. This story time allows children and their caregivers to gradually separate at their own pace. Register January 5.
  5. Mother Goose Rhymetime Drop-in

    Details : Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes and fingerplays for children ages birth to 35 months with parent/caregiver. Siblings are welcome. Drop-in.
  6. Thursday Yoga

    Details : Instructor Augusta Berner will lead you through a yoga routine that will strengthen your body and relax your mind. There is a $36 fee for this 9-session class, payable at registration beginning Feb. 9 for South Huntington cardholders; others Feb. 16.

    Details : Hang out with your friends and enjoy stories, crafts, games and snacks that center on a fun theme. Register March 2.
  8. Planning Your Retirement

    Details : Representatives from Allied Wealth partners will present Retirement Planning Today, a comprehensive workshop that will help you see the "big picture." It will cover various aspects of personal finance and how they can work together to create an integrated retirement plan. Bring your questions. Free, all welcome.
  9. Student Loan Forgiveness
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Theater
    Details : Struggling with student loan debt? Learn about programs that are available to assist you. Student loans can affect your day-to-day spending and long-term ability to afford things like a new car, a home, or even inhibit your savings. A representative of the National Student Loan Service Center will educate you on potential ways to qualify for Loan Forgiveness options so you can move on with your life. Free, open to all.
