    Details : Listening to stories is one of the first steps in eventually learning to read. This story time allows children and their caregivers to gradually separate at their own pace. Register January 5.

  7. Living Healthy with Diabetes

    Details : Do you have Diabetes? Are you unsure about how to best handle this ongoing health condition? Sign up for this 6-week workshop offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County. Discover new, practical ways to live better & healthier. Learn the tools to manage and take control of your health. The program is free but registration is required. South Huntington cardholders register beginning March 2, all others March 9.
  8. YA Volunteer Opportunity: Help a Pet
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Help make dog and cat toys to be donated to our local animal shelter. Registration begins March 16.
  9. Youth Leadership Program
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Every young person has the potential to become a good communicator and leader, but this potential needs to be developed. This program's unique eight-session, workshop-style design enables participants to overcome nervousness, organize and present ideas, listen to others' ideas and and constructively participate in group discussions! This program is sponsored by Toastmasters International. For those in grades 6-8. Space is limited. Registration begins March 9 for SHPL cardholders and March 16 for all others.
