  1. A.A.R.P. Tax Help

    Details : Volunteer tax preparers from A.A.R.P. provide free tax preparation for taxpayers with low and moderate income with special attention to those ages 60 and over. They will be preparing tax returns on Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through April 11. The program is free but due to high demand, registration is required. Register in person or by calling the library at 631-549-4411. (If filing joint, both people must be present). Please bring last year's tax return and other pertinent tax documents, photo ID and Social Security card to your appointment.
  2. Intermediate Tai Chi

    Details : Certified instructor Rosanne Pawluk will lead you in the classic Yang 24 Form as she helps you deepen and refine your practice. The class will also feature a short meditation. There is a $71 fee for this 9-session class, payable at registration beginning Dec. 6 for South Huntington cardholders; others Dec. 13.

  4. Tai Chi Sword Form

    Details : The 16 Sword Form is based on Yang Style Tai Chi. This class, taught by instructor Rosanne Pawluk, is for the intermediate student already familiar with the Yang 24 Form. The movements are slow, gentle, and beautiful. For those interested in learning a weapons form for the first time, the 16 Sword form style is a great place to start. The use of a sword is encouraged but not required. There is a $53 fee payable at registration beginning Dec. 6 for South Huntington cardholders; others Dec. 13.
  5. Dry Ice Capades

    Details : Manipulate matter in all of its three states! Melt metal in boiling water and freeze water with just a breath of dry ice! Use your "Mad Science Thermocolor Cup" to test the temperature of liquid matter in your home! Register February 7.

    Details : Build confidence and sharpen your imagination in this two-day class! Students learn acting through role-playing and a variety of other fun activities. Come and gain a basic understanding of what acting is all about! Register February 7.

    Details : The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an active organization made up of teens in grades 6-12 who work together to make a difference in our library. They help decide what materials should be purchased, plan programs and work on special projects. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday night of the month at 7pm. Community service hours are provided. New members are always welcome!
