  2. A Time for Kids

    Details : Enjoy a series of fun, educational classes for preschoolers ages 18 months - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) and an adult caregiver. This is a skill building, interactive class that will help prepare your child for independent learning experiences. Register November 17.
  3. Brain Matters
    Time : 11:00 AM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : These workshops are based on the latest research and are designed to improve areas of the brain that naturally decline in the aging process. In this three-part series, Speech Language Pathologist Racheal McInnes will help participants develop skills that can be used in their daily routines to aid word finding, memory, and executive function. Participants will learn what they can do differently to combat the effect of aging as it relates to critical areas such as word finding, recalling, "why" we are walking into another room, or simply can't find our keys. Some free iPad apps will be featured in the workshop, and participants may bring their own iPads, but they are not required. Free, but register. South Huntington cardholders sign up beginning Nov. 3, others Nov. 10.

    Details : Film historian Irene Eckert will present Part II of the award-winning documentary featuring famed director Martin Scorcese, who narrates a journey through his favorites in Italian cinema. All welcome.

    Details : Calling all musicians and music lovers! Bring your instrument and record your song at the library and learn the basics of audio recording. Registration begins December 1.
  7. Volunteering at the Library

    Details : Looking to volunteer at the library and earn community service? Sign up for this workshop/ training session to learn about volunteering for various programs at the library and then have an opportunity to sign up for them at our monthly Teen Advisory Board meetings! Space is limited. For those SHPL cardholders in 7th-12th grade who attend monthly Teen Advisory Board meetings. Registration begins November 24.
