    Details : Is it Magic? No... It's science! Learn the secrets behind famous magic tricks. Mother Nature has some tricks of her own, and we'd like to show you what's up her sleeve! Children will bring home a "Mad Science Curious Cube" to continue their magic tricks! Register December 13.
  2. A.A.R.P. Smart Driving Course
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Theater
    Details : Bring a ball point pen, bag lunch, driver's license and a check or money order per person made out to AARP. NO CASH. The fee is $20 for AARP members who bring their card; $25 non-members. South Huntington cardholders register beginning November 14 at 9 a.m., all others register November 21.
  3. Register for Bedtime Book Buddies on 12/27

    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Book Buddies involves older kids helping to teach younger kids the fun and joy of reading. Teen Advisory Board members will read to or with their younger partners followed by an activity with the teen helping the child, and concluding with the buddies sharing a snack. Registration begins December 13.

    Details : JumpBunch is a fun, highly energetic introduction to a wide variety of sports & activities that even young learners benefit from! Have fun while focusing on spatial awareness, muscle development, and coordination. Register November 15.

    Details : Whether you enjoy bridge, canasta or mah jong, bring your game supplies and some friends and spend time playing and socializing. We will set up tables and chairs in the Young Adult Library on the lower level.
  6. Genealogy Workshop: Find Your Roots

    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Join librarian PJ Novak as she shows you how to use Ancestry, HeritageQuest, Fold3 and several other online resources available for free through the library. You'll be amazed at what you can find. All welcome.
  7. Yoga Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Yoga is a fun way for kids to build strength, spirit and self-esteem. By using interactive games and animated postures, kids will build body awareness, improve concentration and focus, and learn how to release energy and relax. Register November 1.
  8. Middle School Yoga
    Time : 5:30 PM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Learn the basics of yoga to help you achieve balance and stress relief and increase strength and flexibility. Bring a mat or towel and a bottle of water. This class meets for 5 sessions. Registration begins November 1.
  9. Learn to Speak English
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Adults who want to learn English are invited to participate in free ESL classes. Taught by a native English speaker, the classes are designed to help new English speakers practice and improve basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English, in a casual and fun environment. The classes are free and open to all.
  10. Meet the Author: Jeannie Moon

    Details : Join Jeannie for "Not Your Mama's Bodice Rippers: Women's Empowerment & the Romance Novel," a discussion about why romance novels forward the concept of female empowerment and feminism. From Pride and Prejudice to the modern day contemporaries, strong heroines rule the day in a genre that's primarily written by women, for women and that focuses on hope for the future for all women. There will be an author Q and A, and books will be available for purchase, including her new book, Then Came You, of her Compass Cove series. All welcome!
