  2. Intermediate Tai Chi

    Details : Certified instructor Rosanne Pawluk will lead you in the classic Yang 24 Form as she helps you deepen and refine your practice. The class will also feature a short meditation. There is a $63 fee for this 9-session class, payable at registration beginning Aug. 8 for South Huntington cardholders; others Aug. 15.

    Details : This group is for adults (19 and older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities to gather in a relaxed setting to form lasting friendships through reading aloud and talking about books. Anyone can participate., regardless of their reading level. This group is facilitated by trained volunteers.   8. Maximizing Social Security

    Details : Join us for an educational workshop that will discuss the most prevalent Social Security topics including understanding how your benefit is calculated, when to claim your benefit, and other strategies that may provide you with a greater lifetime benefit. The workshop is presented by Craig J. Ferrantino, who has over 27 years experience working with retirees.

    Details : True crimes and why people are led to commit them have fascinated people for centuries. In Historic Crimes of Long Island: Misdeeds from the 1600s to the 1950s, award-winning Huntington author and historian Kerriann Flanagan Brosky uncovers some of the most ghastly historical crimes committed on Long Island from the tar, feathering and murder of Charles Kelsey in 1872 and the East Hampton witch trial of 165, to the kidnapping of heiress Alice Parsons in 1937. Join her as she discusses some of Long Island's most horrific crimes. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
  10. Teen Advisory Board

    Details : The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an active organization made up of teens in grades 6-12 who work together to make a difference in our library. They help decide what materials should be purchased, plan programs and work on special projects. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday night of the month at 7pm. Community service hours are provided. New members are always welcome!
