    Details : Step-by-step Art Teacher Amy will take you through a drawing of a black cat with pumpkins on a fence. Learn to shade with oil pastels and paint with watercolors! No experience necessary. Register October 14.

  5. Volunteer Opportunity: No-Sew Fleece Dog Toys

    Details : Come in and create two toys for our furry friends at our local animal shelter and receive an hour of community service. For SHPL district residents in grades 6-12. Supplies are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

  8. Art Exhibit Opening: Poetic Nature

    Details : Sandi Daniel is an award-winning artist. She has exhibited extensively in the United States and Japan. Although her work is constantly changing in theme and technique, there is a distinctive sensibility that runs through all of her photography. Sandi currently splits her time between making art and working at the New York Times. The exhibit will run to Nov. 9.
  9. Kids and Teens Together: Monsters Inc.

    Details : Calling all scarers! Please report to the library and join us for a monstrously fun Kids and Teens Together. Put your monster skills to the test with some crafts and games dedicated to one of our favorite movies: Monsters Inc! Costumes and monster attire are strongly encouraged but not required. Register October 4.
  10. The Great Give Back: Chemo Caps Crochet Workshop

    Details : Participate in The Great Give Back! Patrons can make and/or donate caps for patients of all ages undergoing treatment. Crochet instructor Joanne Cohen will be on hand to assist. Infant and adult patterns will be available. Participants should bring cotton or cotton/acrylic blend yarn (baby yarn or double-knit weight yarn for babies; worsted and bulky for others). Crochet hooks E, f or G for preemie/infant hats and H,I, J and up for children and adult hats. Knitters are also welcome. Experienced crocheters and knitters who cannot attend may donate finished caps.
