  1. Register for Tweens Night Out: Woodshop "Chopped" on 2/3
    Time : 9:30 AM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Your "basket" will contain all the materials you need to make an object out of wood as well as four design elements that must be incorporated into your final project. You will have 45 minutes to build, paint, and decorate your project. Prizes will be awarded for creativity and humor! Come prepared to use some simple tools and lots of paint. Register January 20.
  2. A Time for Kids
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Enjoy a series of fun, educational classes for preschoolers ages 18 months - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) and an adult caregiver. This is a skill building, interactive class that will help prepare your child for independent learning experiences. Register January 6.
  3. The Power of Positivity
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : Resolve to be more positive this year. In this four-session workshop, motivational speaker Vin Ajwani will help us take a fresh look at ourselves. Learn to see the glass as half-full and how to stop negative thinking. Learn to forgive yourself and others. He will also touch on the benefits of yoga and meditation and how we can nourish our bodies and minds with the proper foods. Free, but registration is required. Sign up beginning January 3.
  4. Drop-In and Play
    Time : 12:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Get out of the house, meet other parents and kids and have fun playing and talking together. It's a great way to meet other families in our community. Stay for as long or as little as you like.
  5. Crochet for Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Miss Gail will teach you basic stitches. After you have perfected your stitch, you will be given instructions to make a crocheted scarf. Please bring to class a J crochet hook and a 4 ply skein of yarn. Register January 6.
  6. Escape the Teen Room - Session One
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Work with participants from Huntington and Northport Public Libraries via video chat to solve puzzles, piece together clues, and Escape the Teen Room! Race against the clock which library will be the first to escape!? Register for Session One at 7pm OR Session Two at 7:45pm. Registration begins January 6.
  7. Friday Flicks: A Man Called Ove
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Theater
    Details : Ove is the block's grumpy old man who enforces strict neighborhood rules and whom everybody avoids. One ordinary day a new family is moving in next door to Ove and accidentally backs into his mailbox, sparking an unexpected friendship. Swedish, Persian audio with English subtitles. PG-13, 116 mins.
