  3. Register for Outdoor Concert:Jimmy Buffett Tribute with the Ed Travers Band on 7/8

    Details : Known as one of Long Island's best Jimmy Buffett Tribute groups, Ed and his band will transport you to the Florida Keys, serving up a menu of Jimmy Buffett's best known songs along with other Trop Rock favorites. South Huntington cardholders can get free tickets for seating in the garden beginning June 3. Tickets are valid until 6:50 p.m., when non-ticket holders will be seated, if there is space. You do not need a ticket to sit on the upper lawn, but bring a blanket or chair. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in our theater.
  4. Register for Outdoor Summer Concert Series: Captain Jack on 6/24

    Details : Back by popular demand, Captain Jack is a professional Billy Joel Tribute band consisting of some of the tri-state area's top musicians. In every performance, the band captures the "live concert" arrangements of the timeless hits which captivated tens of thousands to Billy Joel concerts. In addition, they perform several "B" sides and rare album cuts in its shows, making it the most complete tribute to this amazing artist. South Huntington cardholders can get free tickets for seating in the garden beginning June 3. Print them online at www.shpl.info or get them in person at the Circulation Desk.   5. Register for Tweens Night Out: Crab Soccer Tournament on 6/10 CANCELLED

    Details : There's no better way to "kick" off a summer of tween-centered fun than with a crab soccer tournament! Wear comfy clothes and sneakers. No knowledge of soccer (or crabs) required. Post-game refreshments will be served. Register June 3.
  6. A Time for Kids: "Where Do They Live"

    Details : Enjoy a series of fun, educational classes for preschoolers ages 18 months - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) and an adult caregiver. This is a skill building, interactive class that will help prepare your child for independent learning experiences. Register May 27.
  7. Color Your World Adult Coloring

    Details : Try out the latest trend: Coloring for adults. It's so popular, in fact, that many of the best-selling soft cover books are adult coloring books! Come and find out why people enjoy it so much while you meet others and socialize. The library will provide coloring sheets and art supplies, but feel free to bring your own. Adults only, please.
  8. Drop-In and Play

    Details : Get out of the house, meet other parents and kids and have fun playing and talking together. It's a great way to meet other families in our community. Stay for as long or as little as you like.
  9. Chess and Games

    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Meet up with your friends at the library for a night of games galore. We will provide the boards for chess and various other games as well as light refreshments, you bring the skill. No registration required!
  10. Friday Flicks: Deadpool

    Details : Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, the film tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Ryan Reynolds. R, 108 mins.
