New York State contributed more soldiers than any other state but many of our own stories have been overshadowed by focusing on the great leaders of the war. Local, everyday soldiers have often been forgotten but their actions impacted history and their stories need to be told. This presentation does that, presenting a more personal view of the war and its impact on Long Island.
