    Details : Let's write and illustrate our own picture books! If you have a story inside you, let's bring it out and create pictures to bring it to life. Using storyboarding and our imaginations, we can make picture books like all our favorite authors! Register November 7.

  5. Tai Chi for Beginners

    Details : Certified instructor Rosanne Pawluk will lead you in the classic Yang 24 Form practiced in the US and China. The gentle flowing movements of tai chi aim to increase balance, flexibility and relaxation, and improve overall mind, body and spirit. There is a $32 fee for this 8-session class, payable at registration beginning Oct. 3 for South Huntington cardholders; all others Oct. 10.
  6. 1, 2, 3 Play with Me

    Details : Children and their caregiver will participate in interactive hands-on learning and play stations. A community professional will be on hand to answer parent's questions. Siblings may attend. Registration begins October 24.

  9. Creative Writing
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : This 6-week workshop focuses on creatively writing about anything you want. Through group discussions and constructive critique, this workshop will help participants write the most powerful and effective stories their imaginations can come up with. We'll cover craft elements such as setting, character, voice, descriptiveness, and editing. In this supportive environment, participants can work on existing or new writings, a full novel, flash fiction, short essays or even a blog. The workshop is taught by New York Times bestselling author and award-winning journalist Robbie Woliver who also teaches writing and journalism at Farmingdale State College. There is a $20 fee. Registration begins Sept. 2 for South Huntington cardholders; others Sept. 9.
