    Details : Look, listen, and have fun with songs, stories, and movement activities. When storytime is over there will be 20 minutes of playtime with age-appropriate toys. Siblings welcome. Registration begins November 1.

  4. Homework Help at the South Huntington Public Library

    Details : High School students will assist children in the community with their homework assignments in the YA Library. Parents/Caregivers must remain in the building during the program. Help is offered on a first come, first serve basis.
  5. Zumba Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM

    Details : Zumba Kids classes are rockin', high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed kid-friendly routines. Participants should wear sneakers, comfortable fitness clothing and bring a bottle of water. Registration begins November 1.
  6. Evening Yoga
    Time : 6:00 PM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : This yoga routine, led by instructor Augusta Berner, will help you end your day on a positive note. There is a $28 fee payable at registration beginning Oct. 4 for South Huntington cardholders; others Oct. 11. (No class Nov. 8.)
  7. Genealogy Research at the New York City Archives
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Theater
    Details : The New York City Municipal Archives contain a treasure trove of late 1800s and early 1900s family genealogy records, including original Naturalization Petitions and Ellis Island arrival documents. Michael Chaplan will demonstrate his successful research on his paternal grandfather, who arrived in NYC from Russia in 1908, as a model for family history researchers to achieve excellent and fascinating results. All welcome.

    Michael Chaplan is a career Public Health professional with an M.A. in Anthropology from Long Island University. He is also a member of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Long Island (JGSLI), and the author of the popular New York City treasure hunting book, The Urban Treasure Hunter. His special interest in genealogical research is European immigrant families who participated in the late 1800's and early 1900's migration to New York City.</p>

  8. Teen Advisory Board
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an active organization made up of teens in grades 6-12 who work together to make a difference in our library. They help decide what materials should be purchased, plan programs and work on special projects. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday night of the month at 7pm. Community service hours are provided. New members are always welcome!
