  3. So Big!

    Details : A storytime for parent and child with lots of music and movement. Older siblings up to age 5 are welcome. Register July 7.
  4. Blood Drive
    Time : 1:30 PM
    Location : Community Room
    Details : Give the gift of life this summer by donating blood at a time when donations are not what they need to be. Eligible donors are aged 16-75 (16-year-olds must have parental permission; 76+ need a doctor's note) with a minimum weight of 110 pounds. Donor appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. You can call or visit the Circulation Desk to make an appointment, or you can sign up online at shpl.info and someone will contact you to make an appointment.   5. Shells in the Water

    Details : Little ones can explore the beautiful world of shells. Get ready to hold a live snail in your hand and touch different shell shapes, and use shells to create special art. Register July 12.
  6. Battle of the Books
    Time : 4:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : If you are entering grades 6-9 in September and love to read, this is the program for you! Our Battle of the Books Team will read and memorize trivia from 8 pre-selected books! On Saturday, August 14th six team representatives will compete against other libraries in Suffolk County for the title of County Champion! Come and find out all the details of this fun and challenging program! While our first formal meeting is June 29th, the battle books will be available in the Young Adult Room June 1 and all who are interested need to come to our informational meeting on Tuesday, June 22 at 4:00pm.
  7. Ocean Jewelry
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Create your own ocean-inspired jewelry creations with natural materials, shells and sea glass. Learn knot patterns and go home with your own unique decorations. Register July 12.
  8. Bedtime Stories under the Stars
    Time : 6:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Join children's librarian Mr. B for a half-hour of stories that are perfect for sending you off to sleep. Come in your favorite PJs and bring a cuddly friend. Bring a blanket so we can read under the stars if it is nice outside.
