    Details : Join instructor Irene Marchese as she shows you how to paint summer sunflowers on four tumbler glasses, and you'll also decorate gift bag. Keep the glasses for yourself or they make a beautiful hostess gift! There is a non-refundable $15 materials fee due at registration beginning July 2 for South Huntington cardholders. Enrollment is limited.

    Details : Give the gift of life this summer by donating blood at a time when donations are not what they need to be. Eligible donors are aged 16-75 (16-year-olds must have parental permission; 76+ need a doctor's note) with a minimum weight of 110 pounds. Donor appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. You can call or visit the Circulation Desk to make an appointment, or you can sign up online at shpl.info and someone will contact you to make an appointment. Nicole Sparling will lead children and parents through a morning of musical fun.   13. For Teens Only: Friday Afternoon at the Movies

    Details : LEAP YEAR (PG, 100 mins.) A woman who has an elaborate scheme to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, an Irish tradition which occurs every time the date February 29 rolls around, faces a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. No registration is necessary.
  14. Outdoor Summer Concert: Gail Storm Quartet
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Outdoor Garden
    Details : Kick off your holiday weekend with the Gail Storm Quartet, featuring bandleader Gail Storm on keyboard/vocals who delivers classic blues/jazz ranging from sultry ballads to jump blues with swingin' boogie-woogie bass lines. The chemistry is electric on stage with hot sax from Shenole Latimer, driving rhythms and soul-felt solos from guitarist Joe Vicino, and sensitive rhythmic variations from drummer Bernice Brooks.

    Free tickets for reserved seating in the garden are available to South Huntington cardholders beginning June 4. Print them online at shpl.info or get them in person at the Circulation Desk. Tickets are valid until 6:50 p.m., when others will be seated if there is space. You do not need a ticket to listen from the upper level lawn, but bring a blanket or chair. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the theater.
