  1. Register for A.A.R.P. Mature Driving Course on 8/14

    Details : You must be a resident of District #13 and at least 50 yrs. old to attend this two-part class. Library cardholders can register online, by phone or in person beginning July 13. The fee is $12 if you are a member of A.A.R.P. and bring your card with you on the first day of class. Non-members fee is $14.

  5. Register for Make Your Own Splash - Interactive Musical Storytelling on 7/27

    Location : Community Room
    Details : With an inventive sense of humor and a welcoming spirit, get up on your feet and take a tumble into the silly, spontaneous and outrageous through music, movement, improvisation, and storytelling. Free tickets are available to South Huntington cardholders beginning July 13. Print them online at shpl.info or get them in person at the Children's Desk. Ticket holders only will be seated until 6:50 p.m. at which time others will be seated if there is space.

    Location : Program Room
    Details : A storytime for parent and child with lots of music and movement. Older siblings up to age 5 are welcome. Register July 7.

  8. Battle of the Books
    Time : 4:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : If you are entering grades 6-9 in September and love to read, this is the program for you! Our Battle of the Books Team will read and memorize trivia from 8 pre-selected books! On Saturday, August 14th six team representatives will compete against other libraries in Suffolk County for the title of County Champion! Come and find out all the details of this fun and challenging program! While our first formal meeting is June 29th, the battle books will be available in the Young Adult Room June 1 and all who are interested need to come to our informational meeting on Tuesday, June 22 at 4:00pm.
  9. Bedtime Stories under the Stars
    Time : 6:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Join children's librarian Mr. B for a half-hour of stories that are perfect for sending you off to sleep. Come in your favorite PJs and bring a cuddly friend. Bring a blanket so we can read under the stars if it is nice outside.
  10. Water - Water - Everywhere with Mr. Mouse
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Community Room
    Details : Travel along to an ocean, a swamp, a brook, a rain cloud and many more wet places. help Mr. Mouse find where T.D. (a little drop of water) belongs. meet the diving dolphins, the splashing fish and the smiling butterflies. Sing the "Cheese is Life" song. Guaranteed to quench your thirst for fun!
