Friends of the South Huntington Library:
About the Friends
|
Become a member of the Friends of the South Huntington Public Library and help support library programs and services! Our Friends donate money each year to the Summer Reading Clubs for children and teens, fund a scholarship for a graduating senior from Walt Whitman High School, purchase sculpture for the library grounds and sponsor bus trips. Perhaps their most visible and lasting project is the Outdoor Garden behind the library. The Friends raised thousands of dollars through a Donor Recognition Campaign to install and maintain the garden. The Friends also conduct an ongoing book and A/V Sale. Everything is $1 and shelves are located in the copy alcove next to the Circulation Desk on the main level. Check it out! New members are always welcome. You can sign up online at shpl.info or ask for an application at the Circulation Desk. "The only way to have a friend is to be one." - Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) |
